appointments system

Our practice appointment system caters for timely appointments. Our standard appointments are for 20 minutes with longer appointments arranged where required.

As most of our appointments are for 20 mins or longer we phone patients in advance to confirm their attendance.

To accommodate patients who may wish to take up cancelled appointment times or those patients who may require urgent attention we appreciate timely warning of any appointment cancellation.

Please confirm all appointment attendances in advance with our receptionist.
waiting times
We understand that your time is valuable and that you should be seen promptly. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time and let the receptionist know that you have arrived.

Once you have been logged into our computer system your doctor becomes aware that you are actually in the waiting room.

Whilst we make every effort to keep to appointment schedules on occasion unexpected delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances with certain procedures.
At such times staff shall keep patients informed and offer an alternative appointment time if necessary.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause our patients and do our best to ensure that such emergencies are dealt with in the most efficient way with minimal disruption to regular appointments.

Please call the practice prior to your appointment to check whether your doctor is experiencing any unforeseen sessional delays.

after hours

Post treatment after hours care is arranged as per individual requirements and is arranged at the time of treatment.

telephone calls to your doctor

Doctors and nursing staff in this practice may be contacted by phone during surgery hours. If your doctor is with another patient, you may either speak to our nursing staff or leave a message with reception. Return phone calls to patients by doctors will be made either between patient appointments or at the end of a session.

Our goal is to provide you with high quality medical services. Should you have any concerns or suggestions on how we can provide a better service please phone or write to our practice manager or your doctor.

All correspondence will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. From time to time this practice invites you to complete surveys or questionnaires which are designed to help us improve procedures within the practice. This information is confidential and is only used to help us improve our services.

If you feel that you may have difficulty in discussing issues with the practice you may prefer to contact the Health Quality and Complaints Commission.

repeat prescriptions

To monitor your health and fulfill ethical and legal responsibilities we require that you attend your doctor for a consultation to receive any further repeat prescriptions for medications.

test results

It is the policy of this practice to have all patients return for a consultation to obtain and discuss their test results. It may be possible for a nurse to give results over the phone under special circumstances when pre-arranged by your doctor.

reminder system

We have computerised recall reminder systems to help remind you of any review appointments due.

brochures and DVDs

We have a range of brochures and DVDs for your information on skin cancer topics. Please ask our reception staff for help.

disability facilities

This practice is designed for wheelchair access. If you have special needs please discuss them with reception and your doctor.
